About

Who am I?

Hi, I'm Samuel. I build production distributed systems. Since Business Informatics in 2011 that has meant platforms that have to work under real operational load. Earlier roles include enterprise messaging at SAP Event Mesh and Spring-based decisioning services. I currently work as Senior Software Developer on a nationwide train-information system (Java, Angular, Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes/OpenShift). Since May 2026 I serve as Interim Product Architect on that engagement: architecture and interface decisions for passenger and cargo information flows. Since July 2026 I also act as Security Champion, embedding secure design into agile delivery. Day to day I still write and review production software.

Studied Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim. Deepening in "Artificial Intelligence" and "Banking and IT Management". My final thesis topic was "The Relationship between Exploitative and Explorative Business Process IT" submitted at the Chair of Information Systems headed by Prof. Dr. Alexander Mädche. Highlight: Conducting a Software project with a distributed five people team. We had to build a remote control web application for a humanoid robot. The remote control enabled robot steering, speech command operations, role assignments for either "catch" or "escape," playing "catch me" with other robots.
